PEP curriculum based test
PEP CURRICULUM BASED TESTS
The PEP (Primary Exit Profile) Curriculum-Based Test (CBT) for Grade 6 is a series of assessments in Language Arts, Science, Mathematics, and Social Studies that evaluates a student’s understanding of the National Standards Curriculum at the Grade 6 level.
These tests are designed to assess a student’s knowledge and skills, including 21st-century skills like critical thinking and communication.
The CBT is one of the three main components of the PEP, along with the Performance Task and the Ability Test.

Purpose and Content:
Assessments:
The CBT aims to assess students’ comprehension and application of concepts taught in the National Standards Curriculum.
Depth of Knowledge (DOK):
The test items may cover a range of DOK levels, from basic recall of facts (DOK-1) to higher-order thinking skills like analysis and evaluation (DOK-3).
21st-century skills:
While the CBT primarily assesses subject-specific knowledge, PEP also emphasizes the development of 21st-century skills like critical thinking, communication, and collaboration.
Format:
Each CBT in Language Arts, Science, Mathematics, and Social Studies consists of 40 multiple-choice items.
Time:
The CBTs are 1.5 hours in duration.

How it works:
National Standards Curriculum:
The content of the CBT is based on the National Standards Curriculum, which outlines the learning objectives for each subject at each grade level.
Multiple Choice:
Students answer the questions by selecting the correct answer from a set of multiple-choice options (A, B, C, or D) and shading their choice on a separate answer sheet.
Depth of Knowledge Levels:
The test items are designed to assess different levels of understanding, from basic recall to higher-order thinking skills.
Performance:
The CBT is part of the broader PEP, which also includes a Performance Task and an Ability Test. These components together provide a comprehensive profile of a student’s academic abilities and readiness for secondary school.

Summary:
The PEP Curriculum-Based Test (CBT) for Grade 6 is a key component of the PEP assessment system, evaluating a student’s knowledge and understanding of the National Standards Curriculum in Language Arts, Science, Mathematics, and Social Studies.
